While we lived in Japan there were 2 missionary community vacation spots- Nojiri and Takayama. We made it to Nojiri and fell in love. We always felt we should make it to Tak before making a decision where to buy a cabin. Well, Kevin is finally getting his chance to see the much talked about, famous Tak view of the Pacific.
Please pray for:
1. good sleep
2. safe travels up- Kevin has made the trip to about the halfway point many times when we lived in Karuizawa, but the rest of the trip will be new to them.
3. energy and strength as they will be doing manual labor for much of the time there
4. emotional energy as they will see such lostness and devastation that could drain them
5. that they would take time to be spiritually fed while there
6. unity for the men to work together, make good decisions etc
7. connections with the people they meet and help
8. humble servant attitudes
9. good opportunities to share the Gospel
10. safety while working
11. ability to enjoy and reflect on God's beautiful creation they will be surrounded by
I will update as I hear from the men, but it may well be a week before I hear anything as they will be without internet and most likely international calling capabilities.
Pray for us here:
1. the kids went to school thinking they would get to talk to daddy another day or 2- for disappointment they will feel
2. for anxiety the kids will feel about not getting to talk to him for a week, wondering what he is doing/how he is doing
3. for gracious, compliant spirits in ALL of us
4. for an extra measure of patience and understanding with each other
5. for SELF CONTROL
