who come to your house because they think there is an event there, but it is really next week. Your husband is trying to make pancakes and they are a terrible bomb (because of the flour maybe?? We still have not gotten all of our flour issues resolved here), you are in your pj's, have not even thought about brushing your hair, oh did I mention it is dinner- not breakfast time!, the kids are going crazy and she enters into our mad, chaos of a house willingly and happily to join in. She entertains the kids and gets them involved in a game and sits down with us to our less than appetizing looking meal and all is well with the world now. She brought a calm to the storm.
We thank God for placing us on a team where there are others here who love our kids and enter into their lives. Not just asking how they are casually, but really entering into relationship with them. Acting over dramatic for a game to get them excited, being overjoyed when hearing them read very, very slowly, showing joy when they say something funny etc. This is just what we needed tonight- a time for our kids to see another adult and interact with them, and for us adults to have some much needed adult conversation amidst the child chatter.
God certainly takes care of us!

Yes, the flour woes! According to _A Guide to Food Buying in Japan_, to make American all-purpose flour, try 1 part cake flour to 3 parts bread flour. Then alter accordingly until it works. Hope that helps! For a heartier pancake, I use part graham flour (found in regular grocery stores and also import stores).
