My grandma's 90th birthday is today. When I told the kids we were going to call her and sing Happy Birthday and told them how old she is Meg's eyes got wide as saucers and said "mom, she is almost 100!!". Yes- she is a dear ripe old age- and still going strong. This woman for as long as I can remember has gotten up between 5 and 6 to go walking and get things done in the early morning before everyone else is up. And she still does it! She has seen wars and lived overseas- (which means she has some very funny stories of language bloopers), has survived the loss of a husband and child, and has loved and cared for all of us grandchildren and great grandchildren (even from afar). One of the fondest memories I have as a child is going for a week to stay at her house every summer. We got to stay in the spare bedroom and eat wonderful food and go all sorts of places with her. It was sharing in her life and seeing what Grandma did that was most special about these visits.

Thank you Grandma for all that you do and the ways you have taught me and loved me through the years! Meg is looking forward to the next 10 years- for she wants to go to a 100th Birthday party!
