An Escalation and A Victory

Oh, where do I begin...
Yesterday when we got Titus from school he was sitting in time out and we were met by the teacher with a LIST of his offenses of the day. Apparently pinching, pushing and hitting were no longer working for him, he decided to expand his misbehavior to vocal offenses as well. He kept telling other children things like "you are poop" or "you are ...". He also told a little girl that he was going to kick her in the face. Needless to say he upset many classmates yesterday, as well as made his mother feel helpless in parenting him. Apparently all of the talks, encouragements and disciplines have had no effect.

Please pray for us as we seek counseling for him in order to help him deal with his stress and anger. We are at the end of ourselves and normal parenting is just not working with this kid. He is one tough little cookie. Even taking away his beloved blankie and lovies got no response. He just laid down and went to sleep. In normal titus it would have created a huge problem of tears and pleads and crying b/c he needs them. Nothing...

On a Victorious note, on Sat Kevin decided after a particularly nasty diaper change that he has had enough as well. He put Titus in cloth underwear and was literally on top of him all day making him sit on the toilet. Sun was a bad toilet day but we were out for part of it. This morning after he was put in underwear he says "opps, got to go poop" and promptly went to the toilet. We both stared at each other in disbelief. Thank God it seems one major battle has come to an end and he has finally decided that he is ready to do what he knows he should be doing. This will certainly decrease the stress of one tired, not feeling well mama!

Thank you all for your prayers for our family. We know we need them desperately!

So glad you called C. I hope that God leads you all down a path of restoration for Titus's heart. Perhaps she'll be part of that, and perhaps He lead you to someone else, but I am so glad you began this tough task.

I can't imagine how frustrating it is to "deal with" and also how hard it is to see his struggles.

God Bless Dingles - you are in our prayers.
