We apparently arrived in Karuizawa at the perfect time- the height of the leaves changing! It is absolutely beautiful here. Here are some pictures from right around the corner from where we live. The whole area looks like this though, and it is a GREAT place to walk around and enjoy the great outdoors. We feel so blessed to have enjoyed the changing of the leaves in both America right before we left, and now here in Japan as we have arrived. We are
told that the area where we are living is wonderful all year round and we look forward to experiencing it as we are here trying to learn the language.I went out the last couple of days to explore and found some great shops within walking distance where we will be able to go and try to practice Japanese with people. Please pray that as we meet people we would be bold in using our Japanese as well as sharing God with them.

Glad you guys made it ok. Sorry you haven't been feeling well. Rebecca -- I had a migraine on an entire trip back from Oakland to Philly this week, so know that I feel a bit of your pain.
School's good. Spent my entire Saturday doing laundry and studying. Time for some sleep so tomorrow it will be Church and studying...welcome to my exciting world!

i'm unbelieeevably jealous!! fall is seriously the best, most beautiful season of all. and that's so great that you guys are already thinking about practicing your japanese with the locals. so exciting!!
