Kids Books
We had a fun time at the library yesterday. Not nearly as big as one in the states- but there was a decent selection of things the kids were familiar with and wanted to read. So we have been reading Japanese kids books ever since. I am amazed that the kids will sit through it- us stumbling around and long pauses etc. Not exactly nice to listien to if you know what I mean, but they love it. Meg took one of the books to bed with her and we could hear her "reading" to herself, trying to remember the words to the book.

The books look interesting. You can learn Japanese right along with the kids. that's probably a good thing.
It is amazing to have to learn a language so clearly different from your own. Seeing it in print like that really puts the perspective on it. Wow.
